37.35 Face the Sun

Our limits frequently inhibit our perception
as our senses lead us to subtle deception
for we suppose at the close of every day
that the sun sets as it goes away
but truthfully the sun never sets nor does it rise
despite what we see with our own two eyes
something much more wondrous is taking place
the sun doesn’t move but the Earth will face
the source of heat and light for our blue sphere
the marker of time in our atmosphere
and there is beauty in why we face the other way
it’s all about sharing our night is the day
of the other side of the world I don’t mind at all
sharing these resources with everyone on this ball
it reminds me that every time I face the sun
I am by no means the only one
who can behold it’s beauty while I watch it in the air
and I wonder just now what else can I share?
