It’s where I’ve been for a while
but also where I long to be
I thought I’d arrived after many a mile
but I believe there’s a lot more down the road for me
this is good yes but this is not it
it will indeed be the best
and not just by a little bit
but by immeasurable measures we will all find rest
our rest here is so temporary
it only comes in a small amount
but then we will lay down all that we carry
and find a wealth of rest that none can count
now all this counts too but only so much
I’m thankful for all I’ve received
physical provision plus my family’s touch
are pointers to be believed
pointing the way where I’m headed
this all is a bit much for me
when those moments find me dreaded
Home is all I can see
