What Counts

I’m crazy to say this but it is certainly true
poems aren’t the most romantic thing I do
no – romance is recognizing your honey’s wishes
and that’s a clean room clean floor and washed dishes
to be sure when I think about it it all makes sense
but I’m not always on the right side of the fence
cause chocolate and roses are a nice display
but what if the laundry hasn’t been put away?
if I do the one without the other
I may as well go live with my brother
but doing both? hey that could work!
then I wouldn’t be such a jerk
my love would be received in much greater amounts
and she would be delighted – that’s what counts
