Good for One More

End of the school year I’m required to reflect
how can I improve? how can I direct
my energy towards higher efficiency?
how can I be a better me?
it’s a tall order taken seriously
if I’m not what they need me to be
then so much is at stake so I choose to be aware
and use experience in order to prepare
a better version of myself for the coming year
It’ll be a moment before the new kids are here
and I’ll start the machine all over again
of turning girls and boys into women and men
it’s an honor just to be around such excellent adolescents
I learn just as much being in their presence
don’t know how many years I’ve got in store
but more than thankful that I’m good for one more
