Thankful and Mindful

It’s never a problem to lay down on a blanket on the ground under a tree
summertime and I’m a teacher – every moment feels good to me
no classes no lessons no papers to grade
just me and my family sitting in the shade
with a breeze making the afternoon so nice
sweeter than a mason jar of sweet tea on ice
and I’m thankful and I’m mindful for what’s going on
I know all this changes and in a moment all this will be gone
so I soak it up every chance I can
so thankful to my Father – I am a blessed man
