Memory

Memory is the currency we all must pay to move forward
with it we take take steps and slowly we afford
progress to venture on the steps we need to grow
it can be burdensome and it can even be slow
but it is a blessing since forgetting is a curse
for not having any memory at all is the fate that’s ever worse
remembering what we had where we were who we knew
none of it is ever lost – it is always here in view
