I know where we’ve been and where we’re from
what we’ve seen and how far we’ve come
what we thought we were and who we are now
answering the why and figuring the how
there’s a forward and a backward and the difference between the two
is that only one can happen if I am with you
there’s no moving forward if I’m alone
it’s only backward on my own
so you and I both of us ain’t nothing better
upward and onward keep moving forward together
