Leading the Way

It is such a good feeling it’s the good kind of pride
that I feel for these students deep down inside
say what you want about this generation
but I’ve seen what they can do and I’m filled with elation
they explore create invent and discover
they learn think solve and uncover
secrets that the grownups are baffled by
they don’t accept things as they are they wanna know why
I would say I’m looking forward to the future but I’m not
on the contrary I have a much more encouraging thought
not waiting for the future they’re doing it today
these kids are the ones that are leading the way
