We are Teachers

Few things are more appropriate to sum up what we do
than tug-o-war cause working together is the only way we get through
we pull against students parents each other and administrators
custodians nurses secretaries and coordinators
and sometimes we pull against opponents unseen
and not knowing who we’re against makes everybody mean
but when we all get together and we know what we’re pulling for
and we know who we’re pulling against then it’s time for war
and I pity whatever fool puts himself on the other side
united in mind practice and truth we are the overwhelming tide
fit for any and every task
with answers for anyone who may ask
with the evidence of champions complete with the features
we will prevail because we are teachers
