Poetry Driven

Poetry is a great driver but when she’s alone in the car
most folks don’t care where she’s going even if she’s going far
but on the other hand if poetry had a rider
if there is another sitting beside her
it is much more likely folks will want to know
where poetry is going with her friend in tow
and poetry has lots of friends all over the place
she makes friends easily in a wide array of space
like humor grief and narration
worship honor and inspiration
when these friends travel while poetry’s at the wheel
it actually becomes a pretty big deal
poetry alone? not many wanna go near it
but when ideas are poetry driven everybody wants to hear it
