Broken World

The world is broken and it won’t ever be repaired
solutions for global healing in the here and now are shallow when declared
to the ears of those whose suffering can never be comprehended
whose tragedies losses and walking nightmares are beyond being mended
and maybe that was never the point maybe it was never to be
maybe happy endings were never what we were supposed to see
but we were supposed to see something we were supposed to indeed
we were and we are supposed to see bear witness and take heed
to their suffering their loss and make it our very own
we are broken wholly and completely but we don’t have to be broken alone
